What is reiki? Reiki is a light-touch energy practice that supports relaxation and stress reduction. During a session, I use gentle touch (or a light hover, if that's more comfortable for you) to help settle the nervous system and support your body's natural sense of balance.
What does a reiki session feel like? Most people describe it as deeply relaxing, some feel warmth or a light tingling, others feel like they drifted off completely. Every person experiences it a little differently, and there's no wrong way to feel during a session.
Do I need to undress? No, all sessions are offered fully clothed. For sessions that include warm oil (like The Harbor Reset or The Lighthouse), a tank top is recommended so shoulder straps can be moved aside easily.
What are the benefits of reiki? People come to reiki for lots of reasons, stress relief, better sleep, easing anxiety, working through grief or big life transitions, or simply wanting a slower, more intentional moment in their week. It's a gentle complement to whatever else you have going on.
Is reiki tied to a specific religion? No, reiki isn't tied to any one religion or belief system. It's a practice anyone can receive regardless of their spiritual background.
Which session should I start with if I'm new? If you're not sure where to start, the Reiki + Tarot Mini Session is a low-pressure way to get a feel for how I work before booking something longer. If you already know you want a full session, The Jetty is a great all-around introduction.
What if I don't want oil used? Some sessions, like The Harbor Reset and The Lighthouse, include warm aromatic oil applied to the hair and face, it's meant to nourish and soften tension while also supporting the energy work. If you'd rather skip it, just let me know before we start, oil can be modified or left out completely in any session that normally includes it.
Do you use aromatherapy or crystals in sessions? Yes, aromatherapy and crystal placement are woven into most of my sessions. I think of scent and stone as another layer of support alongside reiki, each has its own energy, and when paired thoughtfully with the session's focus, they help deepen relaxation and reinforce whatever your body is working to restore or release.
Can sessions be customized? Absolutely. Every session can be modified to fit what you need, whether that's adjusting position, skipping oil, focusing more time on a particular area, or something else entirely. Just let me know your preferences during the intake check-in, or reach out beforehand if you'd like to talk it through.
What happens during the intake/check-in? Before we begin, we'll chat briefly about what's going on for you, anything you'd like the session to focus on, and any preferences (like the oil question above). Please plan for about 15 extra minutes beyond your appointment time for this.
What's your approach or philosophy? My goal is to offer a space where you can slow down, restore balance, and feel taken care of. Whatever brought you in, you're welcome here.
How do you use tarot in a session? I use tarot as a mirror for your current energy, a way to get grounded and find some clarity, rather than as a way to predict the future.
Can I get tarot without reiki? I generally offer tarot as an add-on to a reiki session since I'm still deepening my tarot practice. If you're interested in a standalone tarot reading, reach out to me directly and we can discuss.
Where are you located? I generally see clients on Tuesdays at Working Well in South Portland. If you're a new client hoping for a different day, reach out and we'll see what we can work out. Home sessions are also available as invitation-only, reserved for clients I've already built a working relationship with.
What forms of payment do you take? Cash, check, Venmo, and tap-to-pay credit cards.
Do you offer discounts? Yes, new clients get a $15 discount and wellness practitioners, healthcare workers, and veterinary professionals receive $10 off a 60-minute or longer session. Please note the Reiki + Tarot Mini Session does not qualify for these discounts.Â
How far in advance should I book? My online booking opens up to two months out. If you're looking for something further out than that, feel free to reach out to me directly.
